Hooray for the route! And hooray for staying in a 4-star hotel after three nights sleeping outside. It's a must. Here's a link to the rough route: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=112133968852448124083.00048bb625ea6b4b41f9a&z=5. It's not exact, but gives the overall idea of where we're going. I'll update it as we go along!
I am also starting to mentally prepare for the flight. During college I flew all the time and absolutely loved it! But after a few years and a few bad flights my fear of flying has grown. I'm not as afraid of what could happen (which, statistically, is virtually nothing) but rather how I would react to it. I deal with fears by learning as much as I can about something, so I know all sorts of specs about the plane and our potential route(s) to San Diego. I also love watching planes, and, as Thad can attest, try to guess the airline of every plane I see in the sky. Well, not the ones wicked far high up, but those taking off from Logan. For example...
Liz: Ahhhh JetBlue! No no, US Airways! Wait wait, Lufthansa!!
Thad: You have no idea what airline that plane is from. You can't see anything but the bottom of the plane.
Liz: Ahhh it's JetBlue! They have blue bottoms!
Thad: :|
Crazy, I know. But it helps me get through the experience! That and hours.. and HOURS of Bravo (aka TV crack for women) on JetBlue's DirectTV.
The next post may involve packing... stay tuned...
