Horton Plaza

Yes, I have spent the better part of my first day in San Diego at a mall.  But guess what - it's outdoors!  Called Horton plaza, it's in the downtown area and near the Gaslamp district (I think).  It's outdoors and is all done in Southwest/pastel colors, and all these crazy ramps and fountains and levels.  Did I mention it's all outdoors?  Pretty nifty!

Pretty cool, eh?  I also found this Forever 21-style store called "CLOSET", and bought a pretty fantastic outfit for the race track and Vegas.  There will be many photos with hats to come.

Interesting thing about retail and restaurants here that I haven't noticed in the Northeast: the use of biblical passages on packaging.  I know "In-N-Out Burger" does it, and my CLOSET bag has "John 3:16" on it.  I wonder what that passage has to do with a store predominantly filled with hoochie-mama clothes and cheap accessories...
